Introducing The Chicago Kidz Choir!

Produced and recorded by Lupe Martinez and Jorge Ledezma at No Sé Discos, their Brighton Park 2 Flat home, rehearsal space and studio. The husband and wife duo are primarily known for the ambitious Chicano Futurist Pop they create together with brother Angel Ledezma in their group Allá founded in 2003 as well as their record label No Sé Discos founded in 2021. Stylistically Lupe and Jorge took direct influences from Kraftwerk’s groundbreaking album about trains and railways; Trans Europe Express and Chicago House, Freestyle, Footwork, early Wax Trax. House music is sorta of a family tradition with the Ledezmas, Chicago House music DJ / Producer, Mario “Smokin” Diaz member of influential house group the Hot Mix 5 is a cousin to Angel and Jorge. Watching his cousins practice his DJ set, thumbing through stacks of handwritten 12 inch dance singles, the massive sound systems at family parties! The trio of Allá are 80s Chicago kidz who were right in the epicenter of Chicago House Music. Too young for the clubs they absorbed it live on the radio late night on WBMX. Working class black and brown communities were filled with these future sounds and that energy! AND KIDS! Seven year old Oona Ledezma, the youngest member at No Sé Discos, contributes along with her friends the choir of chanting kids!

Lupe and Jorge wanted to capture that original Chicago House music energy, imagination and innovation that pumped out of home studios in Chicago in the 80s. All basic tracks were recorded, mixed and performed live.
